Facebook Co-Founder Saverin Gives Up U.S. Citizenship to Avoid Taxes! -
According to the Washington Post, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has renounced his U.S. citizenship to avoid giving anything back to the millions of Americans that supported Facebook, and clicked on the ads that make this website worth its record breaking $11.8 BILLION IPO. I guess he wasn’t going to make enough money to be satisfied.
At SocialNetwork.com, we’re proud to say that we contribute to our society by paying our taxes. Not only is it our duty, but its important to participate in building the roads and bridges that enable life in the USA, and to support our Armed Forces.
I got my hands on a 64 GB first generation iPad and I opened a spreadsheet on it that someone sent me. But I couldn’t figure out how to close it. I did some searching and all the answers I found told people how to reboot the device. Here’s the solution, I figured it out by random luck:
Tap quickly your finger in the center of the screen near the bottom, just above the square button but on the screen. A bar will appear on the top with the DONE button on it. Tap that to close the attachment.
I find the iPad user interface VERY DIFFICULT to know how to use it - but once you know where things are and learn it it is then easy to use. So like so many things, it’s easy once you know how.
Really the iPad should come with a book. Half the features are hidden, its an easter egg hunt!

We just rolled out a new site update. Some highlights:
- You can now report shares and comments on shares as spam / abuse. If you do that, it disappears from your display. If enough people do that, the item disappears from everyones display.
- Site runs much faster.
- Layout was changed to use tabs on top instead of menus to make it easier to see what area of the site you are on.

What cats dream of…
…if they live on the desk of a web developer.

This is a great book for learning about MongoDB which we are using to build some features of the website, www.socialnetwork.com.
We’ve selected MongoDB because:
We’re now using MongoDB to power caching systems and high performance queries, and we’re building out a lot of new functionality on top of MongoDB, which we’ll talk about more as we continue to roll out updates.
